Terms and Conditions

CavenX serves U.S. institutions under published service terms and institutional agreements. These Terms are governed by Indian law; privacy and international data-processing safeguards are described in the Privacy Policy.

Last updated: June 27, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of CavenX's services, including our AI platform, institutional workspaces, communication channels and rooms, APIs, and associated services (collectively, the "Services"). If you use the Services on behalf of a school, university, college, or other institution, you accept these Terms on behalf of that organization.

For U.S. organizations: CavenX is India-based and serves U.S. institutions. The published Terms specify Indian law and Indian courts for disputes; international data processing and safeguards are documented in the Privacy Policy and institutional agreement.

1. The Services

CavenX provides an AI platform for educational institutions — including 100+ frontier models, teaching and learning tools, faculty research assistance, admin workflows, and end-to-end encrypted communication channels and rooms for students, teachers, and staff.

  • Institutional licensing: Schools, universities, and colleges access the platform under an institutional agreement or order form. Scope, seats, modules, and fees are set in that agreement (typically after a quote).
  • Student & scholar subscriptions: Optional individual premium AI subscriptions are available separately and are not required for institutional access.
  • Commercial Services: Where an institution contracts CavenX for its students, faculty, and staff, the institution is typically the data controller for institutional use. See our Privacy Policy.

2. Usage Rights and Limitations

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services.

  • Use the Services only as permitted by these Terms and applicable law
  • Do not misuse, reverse engineer, or attempt to bypass security controls
  • Do not use the Services to generate unlawful, harmful, or infringing content
  • Comply with API usage guidelines and rate limits where applicable
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice where practicable

3. Content, Data, and AI

  • Your content: Institutions, faculty, and users retain ownership of content they submit, subject to the licenses below.
  • License to operate: You grant CavenX a limited license to host, process, and transmit your content solely to provide and secure the Services.
  • Zero-training on institutional data: CavenX does not use institutional data, student inputs, faculty research, or AI outputs to train public AI models. This is contractually guaranteed with every model provider. See our Privacy Policy and Security Policy.
  • AI outputs: You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content. Outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete — particularly for exams, research, and compliance use cases.
  • Institutional ownership: Schools, universities, and colleges retain absolute ownership of their data. CavenX claims no proprietary rights over institutional content.

4. End-to-End Encrypted Communications

Communications between students, teachers, and non-teaching staff via CavenX channels and rooms are end-to-end encrypted by default, comparable to WhatsApp and Telegram. CavenX cannot access the content of messages in E2E channels and rooms.

  • Users must safeguard their devices and account credentials
  • Institutions are responsible for acceptable-use policies in their workspaces
  • Reported Trust & Safety violations may be reviewed using available metadata and user reports — not E2E message content

5. Accounts and Acceptable Use

  • Provide accurate registration information and keep credentials secure
  • Institution administrators may provision and manage user access
  • Prohibited: harassment, cheating facilitation, malware distribution, unauthorized data scraping
  • We may suspend accounts that violate these Terms or threaten platform security

6. Fees and Payment

  • Institutions: Fees for schools, universities, and colleges are as stated in the applicable quote, order form, or institutional agreement
  • Individual subscriptions: Optional student and scholar plans are billed separately; checkout displays the applicable price, currency, taxes, and payment methods.
  • Payment processing: U.S. checkout lists the available payment methods and processors. CavenX does not store full payment card credentials on its servers.
  • Taxes may apply to paid individual subscriptions as required by law
  • Cancellations and refunds are governed by our Cancellation and Refund Policy
  • Digital service delivery and plan changes are governed by our Shipping and Exchange Policy

7. Warranties and Liability

  • Services provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law
  • We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation
  • Liability is limited to the amount paid to CavenX in the prior 12 months (if any)
  • You agree to indemnify CavenX against claims arising from your misuse of the Services

8. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of India
  • Disputes are subject to the courts of India
  • We may update these Terms with notice. Continued use constitutes acceptance of material changes
